Well, I woke up early this morning and wondered what to blog. Since I had a New Smyrna sun rise pictured I decided to go with a Granville sun rise. The picture was taken when I was up there last November. Next I saw the black walnut tree. Father picked up the black walnuts at the Braithwaites in Barrington when he and Mother drove out when Kirsten was born. When he got home he planted them and today they are huge trees. I picked up a few black walnuts when I was up there. A couple of years ago I took a branch from the tree with me back to Florida and had an artist friend of mine make it into a walking stick for me. Of course the theme of the stick was sea turtles. Thus the pictures I have chosen for this post.

Not much exciting on the home front. I've spent the day unpacking. It's taken me all day to unpack one little suitcase, however, I've also rearranged furniture, vacuumed, gotten groceries, talked to Alina, done turtle nest adoptions and attended a turtle meeting. Now I'm going to try and figure out something new about this blogging business.

Day One

Day one of my blog. I still have a lot to learn, but at least this is a start. Tamara, Samantha and I had a good, uneventful drive south. It was good to get back and see Alex and Luke Michael again. I'm not sure if Luke Michael remembered me or not but he was not shy and was very cute. But you all know that. Got home this morning, got my car unloaded, did a few errands and then trimmed the bougenvilla bush. It seemed so dark in my kitchen. I had cut it back before I left but it was totally out of hand. Now I am going to see if I can figure out how to add links, pictures and comments to my blog. It was fun being in Granville for the summer and I picked lots of blueberries, photographed certain squirrels, and ate ice cream at the Scoop, but it is good to be back in my own nest.
