My Segway Ride

Yesterday I finally remembered to go and see the man who does the Segway tours around New Smyrna Beach. I had talked to him before and he was interested in learning more about the turtles so he offered to let me go along when he was doing a tour sometime. It turned out he had 3 people going at 3:30 so told me to come along at 3:15 for a little training. It was different but really cool. The three other women were from North Granby, CT and in talking we figured out that I had probably scooped ice cream for them at the Scoop when I worked there 12 or 15 years ago. One of the women said the name Dot Bettinger was familiar and it turned out her mother at been at the nursing home where Dottie Lou works. I asked about Sharon Billings but they said the name Billings was familiar but it had to do with sports, so I assume it was Dennis. They knew where Pat's Greenhouse was. The ride was supposed to be an hour following a half hour training but we ended up having a 2 hour tour. He stopped a few times and took pictures and emailed them to me since I had left my email address. Too bad the things are so expensive because it was a lot of fun.

Feeding the Birds

On Tuesday Luke Michael and I went to a park on Lake Lily. Another woman was there with her little girl and they had a loaf of bread to feed the birds which they shared with us. This morning Luke and I went back with all the stale bread from Tamara's bread basket. We fed ducks, Ibis, starlings and others. He had a good time and it was fun watching him.
