Brothers

X Box. Big brother can only play on week-ends but little brother isn't about to be left out. There is no battery in his controler, but he hasn't figured that out YET.

Puppy at the park

Today at the park we met Stella. Luke Michael is used to two big dogs, but he loved little Stella and I guess she loved him because as he started petting her, with permission from her owner, Stella got up and walked over and laid her head in his lap.

Beach Visit

Yesterday I got home early from Tamara's which was very nice because Alina and Nick are visiting. The three of us went for a walk on the beach, but they wanted to walk a bit further than I did so I sat on the sand and waited for them to come back. We were walking to the inlet, which is two and a half miles, which means by the time you get back it is a five mile walk. As I sat on the sand a sea gull landed near me and he kept coming closer and closer. I think he was hoping I had some food in my pocket that I would share, but he was out of luck. I got some good pictures though. I include the one with my feet so you can see how close he came to me. We were all bundled up because it has been cold for Florida, however, the wind had died down so we began taking off layers, but it was a beautiful day.

An Elmo Day

Today we had an Elmo day. He had to go with us to the grocery store (actually I guess that was yesterday), but this particular Elmo is rather heavy and awkward. He also talks a lot and if he is laying down he says, "Elmo fell down, please help Elmo up". Today they had a good time together in the rocker that Luke made for Kirsten when she was two. Of course because Elmo is small he kept slipping down and then Luke Michael would call for me saying, "Elmo stuck". He does love his Elmo.

Birds of Prey Center

If I don't put something new on my blog soon I will forget how and then have to figure it out all over again. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera when Luke Michael and I went to the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, which is only 2 miles from where the Overtons live. WE went there last week when Tamara was home and Luke Michael just loved it. Tamara said he didn't act that excited at the zoo when they took him there. For Christmas Tamara gave me a membership to the Audubon Society as well as an adopted bird. There was supposed to be something for children there today but since I only heard about it yesterday I had not made a reservation but decided to go anyway. When we got there we found it had been canceled since they had only had one person sign up. We walked around anyway and looked at the birds and once more Luke Michael just loved it. Of course all the birds are in flight cages so sometimes it is difficult for him to see so he wanted me to pick him up when we got to every cage. I don't need to go to the Y for my work out. Lifting a 34 pound little fellow up about 30 times is quite a work out. His favorite birds seem to be the eagles and the owls. Next time I will take my camera and send a "real" picture.
