Dinner at Riverview

Actually we had a very nice evening having dinner as we sat on the deck at Riverview. Kirsten mentioned that she had not seen any dolphins while she was here, so I told her that I would image dolphins in the river while we ate. It worked! I did not, however, intend to image the woman who was married to Luke when he died, walking in not 15 feet from us. But that's a story not meant for a blog. We also saw several interesting night birds as well as the pelican ,but it was too dark to photograph them.

Visit to "The Bench"

This has been a kind of week off for me. LD's family came down from Alabama so I was free to take the week off if I wanted to. Kirsten and Carl are here at the moment so it worked out nicely. I've actually been staying in bed until at least 7:30 a.m. so am catching up on my rest. We went over to the golf course where Luke used to live and where the girls put a bench at the 8th hole in Luke's memory. We spent a half hour oiling the bench, which tends to either get dried out or covered with some sort of moss, depending on the weather. Thus, the picture of Kirsten and Carl oiling "the bench".

FRIDAY THE 13th

Today Verna drove up from Oak Hill where they are staying for 2 months in a mobile home park. We went to Smyrna Dunes Park and walked on the beach and then back to the board walk for a picnic. I set my camera on a rail and got this picture of our picnic. Pretty good I think for not really knowing what I was doing. It was beautiful weather and I even got a bit of a sun burn. Hope spring is about to arrive for all of you living in the snow "district".

X-BOX AGAIN

I know yu've already seen "the boys" playing x-box, but this picture was too cute not to share. Alex had his feet on the foot stool so Luke Michael pulled his "naughty chair" (it's usually in the corner and is used for time outs) up to the foot stool and put his feet up too. He doesn't miss a trick. And yes, he gets to use the naughty chair quite often, but he knows the drill so when you tell him he needs a time out he marches over and sits down, rather grudgingly, and waits until you tell him he can get out. It's usually a tmeper tantrum that gets him sent there.

303 South Pine Street

For those of you who are interested in some of the changes the new owners have made to the outside of 303 here are a couple of pictures. The back yard has changed too but they were sitting there so I didn't take a picture of it.

Birds of Prey

Last week Luke Michael and I visited the Birds of Prey Center which is 2 miles from their house. He loves it and he knows his way around so well now that he takes off before I have a chance to pay. Of course I have to pick him up so he can see the birds in their cages. He's not quite tall enough yet, but I just consider it a work out. We asked the lady to bring out a bird for a closer look and she brought out a Red Tailed Hawk. He especially likes the eagles and the owls. I can't really get a picture of the owls so I've added a picture of him with the Snow Owl hand puppet I gave him for his birthday.

To take your mind off the snow and cold

Just thought you might like to be reminded of what is to come. There should be no water shortage after all the snow and think of how good that fresh corn is going to be. Mmmmmmmmm! Fresh corn and blueberries.
