The monument next door and the tree by my back porch

Well, I do niss the blogs and enjoy reading Hopes so I will try and keep up my own blog for those that don't do Facebook. They have built a new firehouse and are going to tear down the one next door and sell the property for building lots. However, luckily they have decided tht the Watch and Warn Monumnet from WW II should stay where it is, right next to my driveway. The men's garden club used to take care of it but they are not interested in doing it any more so for the moment I have volunteered to do it. Since Alex and Samantha were on spring break this week I took the week off to do a few things around my own house. Like raking leaves. I"ve filled 30 bags from my yard and I filled 6 more from the monument. I trimmed a few bushes that were there and planted some flowers and put in new flags. I wish I had taken a before as well as an after picture. The bay tree right by my back porch was getting int he way of wires to my house so I had it trimmed a bit this spring. It got trimmed a lot so for fun I have now hung some of my bottle collection in the tree. I've already gotten a lot of comments on my blue bottles. Now if I can remember how to add pictures to this I will do that.

I commend you on volunteering to maintain the monument. These monuments are reminders of where we have come from. Thank you.
