This morning I decided it was time to take a bike ride on the beach. Thus the picture of my bike, to prove that I was on the beach. I only rode about 2 miles, didn't go all the way to the inlet. It is just too hot. It definetly is starting to look like an autumn beach. I had actually stopped to take a picture of the sargasso seaweed, which we see a lot of in the fall, and the birds are starting to migrate so there were small flocks of them resting. The bird in the picture is a Willet. Willets are long-legged, long billed birds distantly related to sandpipers, plovers and terns.

It's great to see the beach pictures. Did the house close on Friday?
Nice bike! It appears pretty good for cruising up and down the beach and surrounding areas. You didn't choose a three-wheeler? I remember my grandparents had the three wheelers with big baskets in the back. As I was riding, I would tip the bike to ride on the front and one rear wheel and could balance it like that almost indefinitely.
Kirsten and Carl gave me the bike a couple of years ago. It is a very nice bike, aluminium, so it won't rust like my other bike did. Carl also gave me lots of instructions about how to take care of it, which I follow to the letter. I really enjoy it as well as the beach.
Glad you are enjoying the bike! I'm enjoying the one we brought back in March. Carl and I cycled to the coast a few weeks ago (38 miles along a disused railway line but came back in the car) and yesterday explored a local route. It was meant to be an old Roman road, but no self-respecting Roman would claim it - too many steep humps and bumps!
